CJ Woods, Ph.D.

Dr. C.J. Woods is the Associate Vice President and Chief of staff for the Division of Academic Affairs.  In this role, Dr. Woods collaborates closely with the Vice Provost for Academic Affairs to oversee the operations of the division and help align core functions across all departments and services.  He previously served as the Associate Vice President and Chief of Staff for the Office of the President at Texas A&M University.  He was responsible for providing counsel to the president and working on special projects and initiatives involving the President’s Office and its priorities.  Dr. Woods also served as an Associate Vice President for Student Affairs at Texas A&M University for eight years.

He earned his Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from the University of Louisville.  He also holds a M.Ed. in Counseling and Student Development from George Mason University and a B.S. in Political Science from the University of Southern Mississippi.
