Departments, Programs & Services

The Division of Academic Affairs provides leadership for the advancement, implementation and assessment of student success, teaching excellence, accountability, learning and success initiatives. The division is comprised of many departments, focused on ensuring world-class academic programs, distinctive educational experiences and continuous growth of educational offerings and academic support functions.

The Academic Effectiveness & Planning (AEP) Team facilitates the curricular review process, with particular attention to the complete and accurate submission of all documentation required by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, as well as SACSCOC.

Every Aggie deserves a chance at an Aggie diploma, and the Academic Success Center exists to support them in that endeavor. The ASC houses tutoring services, supplemental instruction, academic coaching, fresh start orientation, and the TX Success Initiative.

Our mission is to serve as a centralized organization established to educate students, faculty, and staff about the Aggie Code of Honor, respond to potential academic misconduct by Texas A&M students, and facilitate remediation efforts for students found responsible for violations of the Aggie Code of Honor.

The Citizenship and Service Program is not a building or office. It is a shared commitment. Our intention is that every Aggie will engage with the program in meaningful ways, carrying the spirit of civic friendship from campus into Texas and beyond.

The Center for Student Athlete Services (CSAS) provides supervised quiet study and tutorial sessions to empower student-athletes in their pursuit of excellence. We emphasize objective-based learning, time management, and organizational skills. Additionally, we offer engagement initiatives focusing on professional development, personal growth, civic engagement, and leadership to prepare them for life after graduation.

The Center for Teaching Excellence offers instructional professional development for those engaged in the teaching mission of Texas A&M University.

The Math Learning Center fosters the academic success of Texas A&M students by supporting high-enrollment courses in mathematics, statistics, and quantitative reasoning (including core curriculum and prerequisite courses). Our faculty, graduate TAs, and undergraduate mentors promote students’ conceptual and practical math skills through tutoring, study sessions, workshops, and weekly reviews in a welcoming and inclusive environment.

McFerrin Center offers over 30 unique programs that positively impact the lives of thousands of students, veterans, and other professionals seeking to blaze their own trail as an entrepreneur.

The Office for Student Success initiatives support undergraduate students as they transition to Texas A&M and connect them with student success resources and community. The OSS houses academic advising, EAB Navigate, First-Year Experience, Routh First-Gen Center and the Transfer Student Program.

The goal of assessment is to use data to make informed decisions about teaching, learning, program delivery, equity, and overall institutional effectiveness. Engaging in systematic, integrated, and thoughtful assessment of student learning, the student learning experience, and administrative and support functions helps our campus to ensure a high-quality, equitable experience for all students. OIEE is committed to this endeavor and to assisting our faculty and staff in the continuous improvement of their programs and processes.

The Office of National Fellowships at Texas A&M University supports students in pursuing nationally and internationally competitive awards.

(OSEP) collaborates with university and external stakeholders to contribute to student success, accountability, and learning initiatives. Our vision: Support the success of all students at Texas A&M University.

The Office of Undergraduate Research at Texas A&M University enhances the undergraduate experience for all students across campus.

Through PPIP, undergraduate and graduate students actively participate in the policy process at the state and national level. Our credit-bearing internship program is offered year-round, allowing students to participate in the fall, spring or summer semesters.

Transition Academic Programs communicates academic information to students that is focused on each student’s goal to complete a degree. Our knowledge base, services, and programs reflect the broad scope of Undergraduate Studies.

The Undergraduate Ombuds is a resource for every member of the university community. We will listen, support, and help create a plan for moving forward. We offer a safe, unbiased, and private environment where concerns are heard, understood, and respected. Student success is important to us, and we're committed to ensuring that you have the best possible undergraduate experience.

The Office of Undergraduate Studies serves the academic community by acting as a resource to hear, understand, respect, and address concerns while also providing support and coordination for the Division of Academic Affairs.

The University Writing Center provides graduate and undergraduate students with one-to-one and group consultations, online or face-to-face, for writing and public speaking. Their web site provides an array of resources for speakers and writers and for faculty teaching writing or public speaking. They sponsor faculty workshops on writing and speaking pedagogies, and they conduct writing retreats, writing groups, and workshops for writing and public speaking in any discipline.
